Top Questions

How do I get my ship/item after I purchase it?

Your sales managers will head into the field motivated, confident, and ready to succeed. As a full-service business development firm, we specialize in creating effective strategies and building robust systems to drive growth.

What happens if my Star Citizen email is different from the one my ship/item was sent to?

It doesn't matter which account you use initially—once you click the link in the email we send, you'll be prompted to log into the Star Citizen account where you want the ship or item delivered. After logging in through that link, the ship or item will be added to your hangar.

I have successfully received my ship and I can see it in game, but I can’t find it in webiste hangar.

It's possible that the ship or item you received was originally purchased some time ago. Since the hangar is organized by date with the most recent items at the top, your newly acquired ship might appear on the later pages of your hangar.

In the “gifting email” it says it is a different ship than the one I bought, what’s going on?

For CCU ships the “gifting email” will only show the basic ship inside and not the “upgraded” one - only when you click on the link and see the ship in your hangar can you see that you have received the correct ship.

Other Questions

I have not yet sent my RSI Handle/Citizen Name, can you still deliver my ship/item?

Yes! All we need is a valid email address to deliver your ship or item.

I have successfully received my ship and I can see it in my hangar but I can’t find it in game or I have a completely different ship in the game.

Star Citizen is still in its alpha stage, and many ships have yet to be released into the game. If the ship you purchased isn’t flight-ready (not yet available in the Persistent Universe), you’ll be given a loaner ship to use in the meantime until your actual ship becomes available. Please find a list describing what loaner ship you will receive HERE.

Are all of the items accessible in the game right away?

Some of the ships and vehicles we offer aren’t currently flyable in-game. In those cases, you’ll receive one or more loaner ships to use until the development of your purchased ship or vehicle is complete. You can check the exact loaner ships HERE.
Legacy paints and older equipment items may not be available in the game yet, but CIG plans to add them in a future update.

Why do I see a different ship in my hangar than the one I bought (e.g. An Aurora ES in your hangar instead of a Cutlass Blue)?

If your ship is still in development and not yet flyable in the game, RSI will provide you with a loaner ship so you can continue playing while your ship is being completed. please check HERE.

I just bought an upgrade (CCU), does this affect the insurance level of my ship?

Upgrades typically don’t include additional insurance. When you apply an upgrade, the new ship inherits the insurance from the original base ship. For example, if your base ship has LTI, the upgraded ship will retain that LTI. Similarly, if the base ship has 6 months of insurance, the upgraded version will also have 6 months.

Can I buy an upgrade even though I don’t have the required ship in my hangar yet?

Yes, you can. The Upgrade/CCU can be stored safely in your hangar and doesn't need to be applied right away.

Is it legal to buy a ship / item from Galactic Merchant, can I still contact support?

Buying a ship or item from us is completely legal. RSI provides the "Gift" feature specifically to allow ships and items to be transferred between players. All ships and upgrades we sell are legitimately purchased through the official RSI store—nothing is generated or duplicated.

However, keep in mind that RSI does not intervene in grey market transactions, so it's important to be cautious. Unfortunately, some sellers operate with hacked or stolen accounts. A good rule of thumb: If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.

At Galactic Merchant, we focus on offering fair prices while maintaining a trustworthy reputation and quality customer service. If you ever have doubts or questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

I'm brand new to Star Citizen, if I buy a ship from you now can I get started right away?

To play Star Citizen, you’ll need a game package that includes access to both Squadron 42 (the single-player campaign) and Star Citizen (the multiplayer universe). You can purchase a game package directly from the RSI website, but please note that Squadron 42 and Star Citizen are no longer sold together in a single package. Alternatively, feel free to contact us — we can help you choose from the packages we currently have in stock.

What is the difference between the different insurance types (IAE, LTI, XX Months Insurance)?

LTI stands for Lifetime Insurance, which is the most sought-after type of insurance in Star Citizen. It ensures your ship is covered forever in case it gets destroyed, so you’ll never need to worry about renewing it later. LTI is rare and difficult to obtain.

IAE Insurance refers to a special 10-year insurance offered on select ships during the annual Intergalactic Arospace Expo (IAE) sale.

Other insurance types will always specify their duration—either in months or years.

Important: Insurance only becomes relevant once the game officially launches. During the current Alpha phase, insurance has no real impact on gameplay.

I have multiple different insurances on my ship/pledge including LTI and other additional insurances, what counts as the ship's insurance?

Your ship will always retain the highest level of insurance available. So, if you apply an upgrade that has LTI, your ship will keep the LTI—even if other components have different insurance lengths. Since you can’t have more than Lifetime Insurance, LTI will always take priority.

For more details, you can refer to the official RSI support article: RSI Insurance FAQ

I’ve received a message that my ship was sent but I do not see anything in my mailbox.

In most cases, the ship or item will appear in your inbox shortly after you receive the notification. However, there can occasionally be delays on RSI's end. Some email providers may mistakenly classify RSI gift emails as spam, so please check your spam or junk folder as well.

In very rare cases, an email provider's global spam filter may block the RSI email entirely. If that happens, just send us a quick message—we’ll resend the gift link either to a different email address. It always works in the end.

I have multiple Star Citizen accounts, is that a problem?

This issue isn’t caused on our side, but please be careful: make sure you're logged into the correct RSI account—the one you want the item delivered to—before clicking the gifting link.

To double-check, open a new tab in the same browser and go to robertsspaceindustries.com to confirm which account you're logged into. For extra safety, you can log out of all accounts first or open the gifting link in an incognito/private browsing window.

Is it possible to give a ship/item to someone as a gift?

Yes, it’s easy to do. Simply forward the gifting email or link to the person you want to give the ship or item to. Just make sure you don’t click the link yourself. For extra caution, you can log out of your RSI account in a separate browser tab before forwarding the email—this ensures the item isn’t accidentally bound to your account.

Can I gift an item after accepting it onto my RSI account?

No, once you redeem a digital item by clicking the gifting link, it becomes permanently tied to your RSI account. This is a built-in limitation of the Star Citizen system and cannot be undone. We strongly recommend double-checking your order and making sure you're logged into the correct account before accepting any gifted items.

What is the difference between a “Concept” and an “upgraded / CCU'ed” ship and how does it affects the melt value of the item?

In-game, there's no difference between a concept ship and a ship created through a CCU (Cross-Chassis Upgrade)—they perform exactly the same. The differences are mostly cosmetic and account-related.

Concept ships are typically sold only once and often come with bonus hangar flair. They're also more flexible when it comes to buybacks—if you “melt” (exchange) a concept ship, you can usually buy it back from your RSI buyback list at any time.

CCU’ed ships, on the other hand, are created by upgrading a base ship. If you melt a CCU’ed ship, you’ll only be able to buy back the original base ship—not the upgraded version.

Ships marked as "CCU'ed" are often built using warbond upgrades, which are purchased at a discount. This means they have a lower melt value (RSI store credit value) than the retail price of the final ship.

However, this does not affect the upgrade value—you can still use them for future upgrades as if they were purchased at full price.

Please note: we do not offer refunds based on melt value differences. CCU’ed ships are intended to be kept or upgraded, not traded for store credit. If you choose to melt them, it’s at your own risk.

I got an error message when I clicked the "gifting link", what happened?

Occasionally, an error message may appear when you click the link. If that happens, simply check your "My Hangar" to see if the ship or item has already been delivered. If it’s not there, just reach out to us and we’ll assist you.
