Shield & Armor

Stock shields: The 400i comes with one Size-3 shield generator. Compared to common dual-S2 setups, the large single shield offers a higher total pool but lacks redundancy. Shield behavior: After collapsing, shields take around 10 seconds to restart; ballistics penetrate shields more easily, so hull damage can occur even before full shield loss. Shields have high distortion resistance (about 75–95%, depending on power allocation), reducing the risk of shutdown from distortion weapons. Armor / hull: Armor provides passive resistance. Since 3.18, armor grants about 50% physical (ballistic) damage reduction. However, given ballistic penetration, extended ballistic fire should still be avoided.

Weapon Loadout, Ammunition Types and Turret

Pilot guns / mounts: 2 × Size-4 weapon hardpoints (ship ships with gimballed S3 by default; you can fit fixed S4 per hardpoint rules). Turrets: 2 × remote rear turrets, each mounting 2 × Size-3 guns; operated from bridge stations. Notes on mounting: Weapon hardpoints support either a fixed gun of the hardpoint’s size or a same-size gimbal carrying one size smaller weapon (e.g., S4 hardpoint → fixed S4 or gimballed S3).
